FORGE ASTRONOMY

FORGE turns any position on the sky into an evidence-based, multi-wavelength investigation — imagery, spectra, historical plates, radio and millimeter observations, morphology, provenance, and open questions.

View Methods & Source

ONE COORDINATE. MANY ARCHIVES.

From coordinate to evidence. Resolve a target. Search the archives. Compare what different instruments saw. Evaluate data quality. Build the scientific story. Preserve what remains unknown.
Catalogs identify objects. FORGE investigates the evidence around them.

MAST

Multiwavelength data access for modern observational archives.

HST

High-resolution imaging from the Hubble Space Telescope archive.

JWST

Deep infrared observations from the James Webb Space Telescope.

SDSS

Optical spectroscopy and photometry from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

ALMA

Sub-millimeter and millimeter wave observations from ALMA.

ASKAP

Radio continuum and spectral line data from the ASKAP survey.

01

Multi-wavelength imaging

Visualize celestial objects across optical, infrared, radio, and millimeter wavelengths, revealing structures that may not be apparent in a single band.

02

Real spectroscopy

Decode the chemical composition and physical state of stars and nebulae through high-resolution spectral analysis and fingerprint matching.

03

Historical comparisons

Track the evolution of a target over time by comparing modern observations with historical archives from decades past.

04

Radio discovery

Access deep millimeter and radio coverage to detect cold gas, pulsars, and other non-visible phenomena invisible to optical telescopes.

FORGE Field Brief

The Field Brief is the record of the investigation: what was observed, what the evidence supports, where the data are uncertain, and what remains unknown.

Available now in FORGE v0.12. Generate a compact, shareable brief directly from the evidence assembled in your investigation.

Shareable links are live; richer PDF and visual brief formats are continuing to evolve.

Technical Mockup: Field Brief Structure

Why is this field interesting?

FORGE is designed to connect beauty with physics without over-interpreting the data. We separate what is measured, what is pipeline-flagged, what is known from reference data, and what still requires verification. This rigorous lens allows us to build a reproducible evidence trail that bridges the gap between observational wonder and scientific rigor.

THE FORGE TEAM

D. TERRY TREVINO

Co-developer

Specializing in architecture, astronomy workflow, systems integration, and scientific interpretation. D. Terry Trevino ensures FORGE bridges the gap between complex observational data and reproducible research.

VIVIAN HOM

Co-developer

Expert in astronomy workflow development, testing, and validation. Vivian Hom focuses on the rigorous analysis and scientific interpretation of multi-archive data to build a robust evidence trail.

OPEN METHODS

FORGE Astronomy is currently in public alpha. Our source code and research methodologies are fully open-source, hosted on GitHub to ensure transparency and reproducibility in every observation.
